New Zealand Women’s Chess Championship

21st April to 25th April 2009

Held at The Auckland Chess Centre, 17 Cromwell St, Mt Eden, Auckland.

Organised by the Auckland Chess Centre under the auspices of the NZ Chess Federation.
Format

The Championship will be a 10 player FIDE-rated round robin, with a time control of 90 minutes each, plus 30 mins to finish the game after move 40, plus 30 seconds per move from the start. The Reserve will be a Rapid, with a time control of 25 minutes plus 5 seconds per move. The organisers reserve the right to change the formats of the two events, depending on entries.

                        Round 3		 2.30 p.m.
Thursday 23 Apr         Round 4		 9.00 a.m.
                        Round 5		 2.30 p.m.
Friday 24 Apr           Round 6		 9.00 a.m.
                        Round 7		 2.30 p.m.
Saturday 25 Apr         Round 8		 9.00 a.m.
                        Round 9		 2.30 p.m.

Prize-giving: as soon as possible after the final round.

Players who are not registered members of NZCF must pay an additional $13 ($6.50 for juniors). Entries close on 20^th Apr. Late entries will be accepted until 10 am on 21^st Apr with a $10 late fee

Prize Fund

The highest placed New Zealander in the Championship will be 2008 NZ Women’s Chess Champion and hold the Mabel Abbot Trophy.
