2010 New Zealand Premium Junior Chess Event

This event is a Millennium Class2 Grand Prix Chess event and will be held in conjunction with the 117th New Zealand Chess Championship. It is also a great occasion to discover our future chess talent and will be regarded as an important tournament to help select our chess juniors to represent New Zealand in the future world junior chess events.

Format: The juniors will be divided into A, B and C groups. All the juniors are expected to play the 6 round tournament – no byes.

To be eligible players must be under 20 at 01/01/2010.

Time control: each player has one hour per game for all moves.

A                NZCF >1000
B                 NZCF >700
C                 NZCF <700 and unrated

Players may enter any group, but the organizers reserve the right to move a player to a different group if they think this is conducive to the success of this event.

Entry Fees (if postmarked by December 28, 2009)

$50/Per player Late entry fee $10 (After December 28^th)

Entries are only regarded valid when the organizer receives the payment by Dec. 28, 2009. Any withdrawals after the payment is made will be deducted $20 and must be notified before Jan 2, 2010. After January 2, 2010, no refunds will be made to any withdrawals.

2009 NZCF player registration fee under 20 years (born on or after 01-01-1989) $6.50 applies to all junior players.

A player belonging to either the Auckland Chess Centre or Chess for Miracle will have a discount of $5 from their entry fee.
