2010 George Trundle NZ Masters Tournament

Sponsored by the Auckland Chess Centre and avid local enthusiast George Trundle.

Two invitation-only tournaments. 10 players play in 9-round all-play-all tournament. The Masters tournament offers the opportunity for several NZ players to achieve FIDE (World Chess Federation) master norms. Also a 10 player all-play-all qualifiers tournament combining experienced and up-and-coming New Zealand players.

Venue: Auckland Chess Centre, 17 Cromwell, St, Mount Eden (spectators welcome).

Schedule: July 3rd – 11th. One round per day. Rounds start at 1pm except for the final 2 rounds that starts at 11am on Saturday the 10th and 10am on Sunday the 11th.

Time control: this event will use the same time control as the Olympiad, ie 40 moves in 90 minutes followed by 30 minutes to complete the game, with an increment of 30 seconds per move from move 1.
